We were recently asked by a client to create a custom fabric shower curtain for a beautiful bathroom located just off the living room. Because the space was visible from an adjacent room, choosing the right fabric—and construction—was especially important.
This helpful Merchant & Mills blog post was a great resource to get us started and guided us through the process. The Indian cotton fabric our client selected from our collection is lightweight, allowing soft light to filter through while still providing privacy.
At 42 inches wide, the fabric required two panels, which we joined with a French seam down the center for a clean, durable finish. Grommets felt a bit heavy for such a lightweight fabric, so we opted for buttonholes instead—an elegant and practical solution for this project.
We love how it turned out and hope this project inspires you to consider a fabric shower curtain as a simple way to elevate your bathroom.

Absolutely gorgeous!
